NVWIT Pipeline Comprehensive Course (PCC)

Course Description:
The Nevada Women in Trades (NVWIT) Pipeline Comprehensive Course (PCC) comprises four core competencies, delivered over 190 hours of interactive small classroom sessions, and taught by academic coaches in trade occupations and experts in associated subjects.
NVWIT Pipeline Comprehensive Course (PCC) prepares you for Apprenticeship Exams by enhancing your math skills, interview skills, equipping you with the proper mental and physical tools through hands-on training for the stable, and high-paying trade jobs. NVWIT Pipeline Program core curriculum consists of 190 hours of interactive content delivered in small group classes, 20 hours of out-of-class assignments, individual coaching, mentoring, and test taking skills over a six-week period. Additionally, all students participate in site visits, attend presentations by trade representatives and receive hands-on learning opportunities (11-12 weekly hours). Pipeline Students receive valuable Certifications in OSHA, CPR, and Forklift Operator Awareness during 4 required Saturday Academies.

Prerequisites:

• Fill out Application in person not online held at the Historic Westside School
• Math Pre-test
• Interview

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Nevada Driver’s License.
• Birth Certificate and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills on the NVWIT aptitude test.
• Random drug test provided by NVWIT.
