ROADS Grant

Mission:
The mission of the program is to grow and strengthen the Southern Nevada Skilled Workforce.

The ROADS Program will provide training for unemployed/underemployed individuals, Veterans, Adults with disabilities, Individuals with limited English proficiency with participants pursuing high demand occupations over a one-year period through various means and programs. The program will provide students (new or existing) with financial support for various costs (e.g. training, certifications, testing, books, materials and/or supplies) and assist with any other obstacles that may arise. Students will access training in, but not limited to, Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Computer Information Technology, Truck-Driving (CDL) and other programs on the ETPL and become employed in stable jobs.

Requirements & Services:
Participation in the ROADS Programs is funded through the Department of Education, Training and Rehabilitation. Students participating in the ROADS Program must be motivated to advance in their careers with the intent of living and working in southern Nevada immediately following certification or degree attainment.
  • Participate in job shadowing facilitated by ROADS Business Partners.
  • Financial assistance and referrals to community partners.
  • Attend and actively participate in ROADS Program trainings and workshops offered.
  • Actively pursue employment or advancement in current employment in chosen field.
  • Direct access to employer presentations and job opportunities.
  • Communicate in a timely manner for reporting of academic/professional status throughout duration of program.
