This course is for students who have had little or no riding experience and will cover the basics of safety such as balance/control and stopping and steering as well as grooming, care and tacking up. In order to ride and be one with the horse, you have to develop your seat and center of balance and then learn to establish contact and communication with the horse. Course will cover lessons on the long line as well as learning to walk, trot and halt independently. Participants are required to wear, jeans, or breeches, boot with heel (no shorts or tennis shoe), T-shirt/polo shirt attire. Riders must not exceed 200 pounds. Facility is lighted for evening instruction and is located 20-30 minutes from the CSN Summerlin Campus.
