The nursing assistant is an important part of the nursing care team. A nursing assistant is a person who, under the direction of a licensed nurse, performs basic nursing and restorative services for patients and clients which involve: Safety, Comfort, Personal Hygiene, Basic Mental Health, Protection of Patient Safety, Protection of Patient Rights, Observation and Reporting. This is a nursing assistant preparation class. Students are required to take 210 hours of class over seven-weeks which includes: lecture, lab, and clinical work. Upon Successful completion of this course, the student will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, and will then be eligible to apply for state certification by examination.
