This class involves a warm up fitness exercise and a short form Tai Chi Chuan. The warm up exercise is based on the theory of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Tai Chi Chuan learned in this class is a simplified Yan Style Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi was originally an ancient style Chinese Martial Art. When practiced as exercises, Tai Chi Chuan combines slow, graceful, low impact, continuous movements with meditation and breathing. The practice of Tai Chi Chuan can improve balance, stability, flexibility and coordination of the body. It also has been known to lower blood pressure, strengthen joints, bones, muscles and overall fitness.
