Basic Rider Course II License Waiver

Requirements to enroll:·

  • Be a Nevada resident 
  • Have a current class C driver's License or a learner's permit
  • Be able to ride the 2 vehicle you bring to the class

  • Have a basic command of the English language
  • Have basic computer proficiency to access the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) ePackage1 eCourse and print the certificate or arrange for CSN staff to assist you.
  • You must be at least 15½ years of age
  • Students under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver in person or obtain a notarized signature prior to the start of class. The two (2) waivers are available below:

  • Both waivers are must be signed before riding a motorcycle class at CSN.
The completion card you will receive after successful completion will be printed using the information from your student profile. 
This is the document you will take to NV DMV so it must be correct,
Please make sure the student profile has the following information:
Your complete first name as it appears on your NV Driver's license
Your middle initial(s)
Your complete last name as it appears on your NV Driver's license and any other items such as JR or II.



Required equipment: Participants without this equipment will be dismissed from course without a refund!
  • Your own street legal motorcycle with at least ¾ or a full tank of gas, or battery charge
  • Proof of insurance,
  • Current registration,
  • Valid NV driver’s license or driving permit and
  • DOT approved 3/4 or full-face shield motorcycle helmet
  • Gloves with full fingers (must have fingertips covered)
  • Long sleeved shirt (pull over or button front) or jacket
  • Long pants (jeans or similar fabric, with NO holes, tears or rips)
  • Over the ankle boots with a hard sole (High heels or high-top cloth athletic shoes are NOT permitted)
No gloves, or boots are available.

  • DOT approved 3/4 or full-face motorcycle helmet
  • Eye protection (Glasses/Sunglasses or face shield)
  • Gloves with full fingers
  • Long sleeved shirt or jacket
  • Long pants (jeans or similar fabric with no holes)
  • Over the ankle boots with a hard sole: High heels or high top cloth athletic shoes are NOT permitted.
Basic Rider Course 2 Class Preparation.
To attend the in-person riding day, students are required to complete the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s ePackage2 e Course.  
  • The cost of the e Course in included in your registration fee.
  • The directions with the links imbedded will be sent with your registration conformation.
  • The e Course is accessed through the MSF web site your CSN user name and password will NOT work.
  • The e Course takes approximately 4 hours to complete from start to finish.
  • Once completed, print or save a copy of your completion certificate and bring it to the first-class session.
  • The completion date of the ecourse must be with in 30 days of the start of the in-person class. 
    IMPORTANT: The MSF e Courses are NOT accepted as a license waiver by any state department of motor vehicles, or as a license to ride a motorcycle or a learner’s permit. 
     
    Topics covered during this course are:
  • Basic fundamentals of motorcycle operation
  • Physical and mental skills
  • How to manage risk and develop a good mental riding strategy
  • Effectively braking, swerving and cornering
 
To receive a completion card students must:
  • Complete the e course and
  • PASS a riding skills evaluation. 
  • Students will receive one (1) riding skill evaluation per class.  
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles waives their testing for successful graduates of this course.




 


IMPORTANT: The MSF eCourses are NOT accepted as a license waiver by any state department of motor vehicles, or as a license to ride a motorcycle or a learner’s permit.



Students MUST SUBMIT the MSF’s ePackage2 Completion Certificate with a completion date within 30 days of the class start date and PASS the skills evaluation.
After successfully completing the course, you will receive a completion card, which you take to the DMV for your class M endorsement. The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles waives their testing for successful graduates of this course.
ATTENDANCE AT ALL SESSIONS IS MANDATORY. IF YOU ARE LATE, MISS THE CLASS SESSION, DO NOT ATTEND or DISMISSED, YOUR COURSE FEE WILL BE FORFEITED.


NOTE: This course is NOT designed for Tri-Mobiles (Trikes, Can-Am Spider or sidecars). The
Piaggio MP3 is the ONLY three-wheeler that can be accommodated in this course.
