This course is for people that are thinking about riding an e-scooter and want to learn more about the machine and how to be safe.
This is a free hybrid online/in-person course to inform, encourage and promote road user safety, focused on e-bikes and e-scooters. The program is designed to engage youth, their parents and older adults. The course starts with a self-paced national safety training after which students come to an in person session, portion where ideas and concepts will be covered through facilitated discussion and fun activities designed to reinforce key points, answer questions, provide context about Nevada’s road safety laws for e-scooters and discuss proper fit and selection of safety gear and where to acquire it locally.

  • Where they can be ridden
  • How to handle traffic
  • taking proper care of the machine and its batteries
    • Charging
    • Storing
    • Signs of issues with the batteries
  •  Proven strategies to be and stay safe while riding
    • Rules of the Road
    • Safety Equipment on the machine
    • Safety Gear on you
