Beginning jewelry introduces the student to a selection of the numerous jewelry making methods available. We will be working with beads, wire, clasps, jump rings and possibly found objects and fabric.  Students will learn how to manipulate basic jewelry hand tools to make completed pieces.  We will discuss how jewelry making is an ancient practice that most cultures have adapted as a means to show status, wealth and group inclusion. By the end of this course students will have several pieces of completed jewelry they can wear, sell or give to others.

Prerequisites: None

Requirements: A $20.00 materials fee is to be paid directly to the instructor by cash on the first day of class.
