The HiSET is a national high school equivalency (HSE) assessment for adults who have not graduated from high school or previously obtained an equivalency certificate. The HiSET assesses five subject areas: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
Each examinee is responsible for creating a test-taker profile at https://hiset.org/nevada/ .You must have your HiSET ID Number ready when registering and paying.

Please note the following price increases, effective January 1, 2025:
  • The computer-based assessment is $20 each for individual subject subtests ($100 for a full battery of five subjects). 
REFUND/FORFEIT POLICY: ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE NONREFUNDABLE. PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR SESSIONS CAREFULLY.
As noted, all noncredit assessments listed in this schedule are NONREFUNDABLE. You must schedule your exams before the end of the year. If you fail to schedule your exams before December 31, you will forfeit your tuition fee and must repay for the assessment. Please schedule your exams via email to dwedtesting@csn.edu

RETAKE POLICY
If you are retaking an assessment, you must arrive to our CSN Sahara West location to receive a discounted retake. Please have your HiSET ID# available. You can take each HiSET subject a max of 3 times and must wait at least 2 weeks to re-test. If you do not pass by the 3rd attempt, you will have to wait until the next calendar year to take the test again.
 
SCHEDULE POLICY
Once you have purchased your registration, you must email DWED Assessment Services at dwedtesting@csn.edu at least 48 hours prior of your desired testing date. Please let us know the date, time and subjects of the test you plan to take. You must arrive with enough time to be seated and complete your final assessment by the Assessment Center closing time. On test day, please bring a valid government photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Outdated/expired IDs will not be accepted.

RESCHEDULE/ABSENT POLICY
If you need to reschedule/cancel, please notify us via email at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled exam time. If no notice is given 24 hours prior, a $5 retake fee will be applied for your future exam. If you are absent for your exam, the same $5 retake fee will be applied for your future exam.

Examinees must be at least 16 years old to take the HiSET exams. 16- or 17-year-old examinees must have Release from Compulsory Attendance paperwork from their local school district as well as parental signature. This paperwork can be obtained from the Clark County School District office (call 702-799-2273).
