Students will receive a skill check list validating IV proficiency. IV Standards of Care will be presented, peripheral IV care/maintenance, IV starts. Venous lab sampling will also be presented to include: order of the draw, safety for the patient and the technician, patient education regarding venous lab sampling. Pediatric IV guidelines will also be presented and IV skill will also be validated. The course will be approved for CSN .75 CEU’s.
