HiSET Computer-Based Assessment / Reading

The HiSET is a national high school equivalency (HSE) assessment for adults who have not graduated from high school or previously obtained an equivalency certificate. The HiSET assesses five subject areas: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

Please note the following price increases, effective January 1, 2019:
  • The computer-based assessment is $15.75 each for individual subject subtests ($78.75 for a full battery of five subjects). 
REFUND/FORFEIT POLICY: ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE NONREFUNDABLE. PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR SESSIONS CAREFULLY.
As noted, all noncredit assessments listed in this schedule are NONREFUNDABLE. In the case of an emergency and you cannot attend your scheduled assessment; or you have not scheduled your assessment before the end of the calendar year on December 31, you need to contact us to request a transfer. If you fail to request your transfer before your scheduled assessment or before December 31 if you have not yet scheduled, you will forfeit your tuition fee and must repay for the assessment. If you have questions about transferring your registration fees, please call (702) 651-4266 to request assistance. Send your transfer request in writing to dwedtesting@csn.edu

Each examinee is responsible for creating a test-taker profile at http://hiset.ets.org/test_takers/. You must have your HiSET ID Number ready when registering and paying.

RETAKE POLICY
If you are re-taking an assessment, you must call the DWED main registration line at (702) 651-4747 to receive any eligible discounted retake rate. Please have your HiSET ID# available. You can take each HiSET subject a max of 3 times and must wait at least 2 weeks to re-test. If you do not pass by the 3rd attempt, you will have to wait until the next calendar year to take the test again.
 
SCHEDULE POLICY
Once you have purchased your registration, you must email DWED Assessment Services at dwedtesting@csn.edu at least 48 hours prior to your desired testing date with the date, time and subject of the tests you plan to take. You must arrive with enough time to be seated and complete your final assessment by the Assessment Center closing time. On test day, please bring a valid ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Outdated/expired IDs will not be accepted.

Examinees must be at least 16 years old to take the HiSET exams. 16- or 17-year-old examinees must have Release from Compulsory Attendance paperwork from their local school district as well as parental signature. This paperwork can be obtained from the Clark County School District office (call 702-799-2273).
