Are you tired of struggling with food, disliking your body and diets that do not work followed by disappointment and self-criticism? The Mindful Eating course is about exploring what we already have and appreciating everything we are doing. Mindful eating involves purposefully and non-judgmentally paying attention to what is happening right now within your body, mind and heart, as well as what is happening outside in the environment. In this course, you will be introduced to mindfulness with a focus on mindful eating. We will explore “the nine hungers” including, eye, nose, touch, ear, mouth, stomach, body, mind and heart hunger that commonly drive our eating. Additionally, we will mindfully investigate level of hunger, craving, fullness, satisfaction, eating patterns, body sensations and gratitude for the body. Through classroom exercises, mindfulness practices, home practices, and discussion during the six-week course, you can gain insight and awareness into your eating. Requirements for class bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes. Materials fee of $10 payable to instructor on the first day of class.
